Publicly-held Morristown, New Jersey Fortune 500 corporation seeks a legal administrative assistant/paralegal for its legal department. Must be familiar with insurance terminology (preferably personal insurance - property, casualty, auto, etc.) The ideal candidate will have experience researching insurance issues. Knowledge of WestLaw and Lexis, proficiency in Excel.
Duration of assignment: 8-12 weeks, possibly longer and transitioning into a permanent position. Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. ***Opportunity to work remotely on occasion.***
You will perform ad-hoc and project-related legal research in various insurance related topics, such as insurance producer termination, manuscript endorsement and consent to rate, surplus lines, and state regulatory requirements;
Prepare internal stakeholder-facing spreadsheets and charts containing the results of the research;
On a state-by-state basis, research all aspects of writing personal insurance, including billing requirements, use of credit and privacy requirements, and use of losses in underwriting.
Minimum of 3 years of experience researching insurance issues in a high energy, fast-paced environment.
Bachelors' degree and Paralegal certificate required.
Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel. SharePoint experience helpful.
