Global law firm is looking to hire an experienced paralegal with more than five years of trusts and estates experience with an emphasis on estate administration. The primary responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting with estate administration, including preparation of probate papers and related court documents; interact with clients and court personnel; coordinate with executors and trustees to identify and value assets and arrange for appraisals and with fiduciary accountants in preparation of estate tax returns; coordinate distributions and estate and trust settlement and prepare documents for judicial or non-judicial settlement; prepare first drafts of some testamentary documents; interface with clients and client advisors; generally provide support to active trusts and estates practice.
Large law firm experience in Trusts & Estates and all related documents are necessary. The successful candidate must have excellent administrative and client service skills, and the ability to handle a high volume desk, which requires organizational skills, extreme accuracy and attention to detail. Must have a professional demeanor and the ability to be the face of the firm when greeting clients visiting the office. Excellent proofreading skills are essential. Advanced computer skills are necessary to handle the workload; proficiency with MS Office Suite is a must. The successful candidate will be a positive self-starter who regularly demonstrates initiative and continually multi-tasks and prioritizes to handle the workload at a very fast pace. The candidate will be the sole staff person in the office and therefore needs to be willing to perform any other duties as may be assigned (eg. facility-related tasks.) Must be a team player and able to adapt to changing technologies and procedures. Overtime flexibility required. BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent in experience.
